Later days the Russian media allegedly reported over the agreement reached between Russia and the ICAO on the Russian legitimacy of flights over the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the implementation of the air navigation services at the Crimean peninsula.

The official position of ICAO and the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation on this subject was published in April 2014 and remains unchanged: the right of the air space above the Autonomous Republic of Crimea belongs to Ukraine only.

We demand from the Russian Federation to stop the illegal Russian airplane flights over Crimea and strictly adhere to the internationally recognized exclusive right of Ukraine on providing the air traffic control over its sovereign territory, including the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

We call on the international community, including ICAO; condemn the actions of the Russian side, which by its occupation policy towards Ukraine disregards the international law in the field of air navigation control.
