Statement

by the Delegation of Ukraine

at Informal Interactive Dialogue on the Implementation of the Pact for the Future

Mr. President,

Ukraine aligns itself with the EU Statement and wishes to add some remarks it its national capacity.

Let me begin by thanking you for convening this important dialogue, which provides a good platform to exchange views and best practices on advancing the implementation of the Pact for the Future.

Ukraine strongly supported the adoption of the Pact, as it reinforces global solidarity, sustainable development, and the principles of international law and the UN Charter — values that are particularly crucial in today’s complex geopolitical environment.

The Pact rightly highlights peace and security, human rights, and sustainable development, all of which are essential to securing a just and prosperous future for all.

Political will is critical for the Pact’s implementation. However, as we move forward, we must not lose sight of the fundamental principles of international law and the UN Charter, which remain the foundation of global peace and security. Ukraine firmly believes that sustainable development cannot be achieved without peace, and peace cannot be sustained without justice. That is why we emphasize the need for accountability for violations of international law and strengthening mechanisms for conflict prevention and resolution.

Ukraine remains committed to international efforts on the effective implementation of this document. Even in the face of the Russia’s ongoing war of aggression, Ukraine continues to align its recovery and reconstruction efforts with SDGs, reinforcing resilience, innovation, and inclusivity in our national development strategies.

Finally, we stress the importance of partnerships, financial mobilization, and technology transfer in achieving the Pact’s objectives. Ukraine stands ready to collaborate with the international community to bridge implementation gaps, share best practices, and ensure that the Pact translates into tangible results for people worldwide.
