Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "I was pleased to welcome in Kyiv UN High Commissioner for Refugees Barham Salih.
We discussed sustaining UNHCR support for Ukraine, including winter assistance in response to Russia’s energy terror, and the effective implementation of UNHCR’s regional plan to support Ukrainians abroad.
Ukraine holds the line. Our resilience is proven, and the experience we have gained since the start of Russia’s full-scale war is an asset. We are ready to share this experience and contribute it across multiple areas of international cooperation.
Even as the war continues, we are already discussing post-war recovery and long-term solutions to ensure safe return, reconstruction, and sustainable development.
I also expressed special gratitude for the life-saving assistance provided to vulnerable Ukrainians, as well as for the support to small and medium-sized businesses through local procurement.
During the meeting, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the MFA and UNHCR aimed at strengthening the capacity of Ukraine’s consular services to provide essential support to our citizens abroad".
