Khrystyna Hayovyshyn, Deputy Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, emphasized: "In a Ukrainian Crimea, free from Russian occupation, the indigenous Crimean Tatar people will have a future, security, and all opportunities for their development and prosperity."
The event featured personal family stories about the deportation, the screening of the documentary "Witnesses of Deportation," and poetry recited by Zulfiya Asanova, a representative of the Crimean Tatar community, highlighting the pain and suffering experienced by the Crimean Tatars during the deportation.
We express our gratitude to
Ayla Bakkalli, a representative of the Crimean Tatar people at the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, for her collaboration in organizing the event.
