In order to strengthen the role of the United Nations in stabilizing the situation in Donbas, upon request of the Ukrainian side the UN is sending its assessment mission to Ukraine on January 23, 2016.

The mission will be consisted of representatives of United Nations Development Program, UNICEF and UN Mine Action Service. It is scheduled that the mission will meet with Ukrainian officials in Kyiv and visit Donbas region in order to study the situation on the ground, particularly in the sphere of demining.
